Spring Soccer

Claire played Micro soccer again this season.  After the first game I realized we probably should have signed her up to play Recreation.  She was the most aggressive one on the team and showed that she really understands the game.  While she did not score any goals, she was a very good defender!

Isaiah finished another season with the Chivas.  The boys improved so much this season.  Coaches Dustin and Andy worked really hard to teach positions.  While they moved the boys around to play all the positions, they tried to have them play the ones they were better at more often.  They also used the last practice of the season to take the team to play foot golf.  They played at Jim Ager Golf Course.  Instead of hitting golf balls into the tiny holes, you kick a soccer ball into a large hole!  They all had a blast!  We are looking forward to the team gaining even more skills in the fall.

Last Day Breakfast

Andy wanted to start a family tradition.  He decided that every year on the last day of school we will go out to eat breakfast before school!  We went to IHOP and although is was quite pricey for breakfast food, the kids loved it!

Kindergarten Graduation

Claire had her kindergarten graduation in May.  The class performed several songs and then Mrs. Potter handed out diplomas.  Each student got a pizza box full of items they had created throughout the school year.  They also got a cookie and juice box!  Claire was very excited to perform in front of all the parents.  She had been practicing the songs in the bath for many weeks!

Mrs. Potter and Claire
We were so thankful for Mrs. Potter.  She went above and beyond the call of a kindergarten teacher.  Claire learned so much....sometimes we think too much!

Mommy Graduates!

After two years of graduate classes, I graduated with my Master's in Educational Leadership in May of 2016.  I had to spend many hours away from Andy and the kids.  I am thankful for a supportive family, including my mom, too.  She watched the kids during my summer classes.  Graduation was at the outdoor amphitheater on the Doane campus.  It was a beautiful morning to celebrate with family and my friends from Cadre 31!

Mayor's Run 2016

Both kids decided to run in the Mayor's Run this year.  It is a one mile run around the capitol building the day before the Lincoln Marathon.  It was a rainy morning, but the kids did a great job anyway.

Isaiah ran with Jackson.  They ran the whole thing and finished in just over 10 minutes.

Claire had to run by herself.  Andy was going to run with her, but he ended up having to stay home because the van wasn't working!!  I couldn't run with her because I was largely pregnant!  I was so proud of her!  She ran the whole thing as well, and finished in about 14 minutes!

6th Birthday!

How is my baby girl already six?!  She is a spunky, smily, singing, active little girl who is a joy to have around.  She loves anything Frozen themed, playing with her brother (for the most part), playing with her baby dolls, and school.  From mom and dad this year, she got a desk.  Since Isaiah moved downstairs and has a built-in desk, Claire had been pining for one of her own.  She was thrilled when she woke up the morning of her birthday and found this in the livingroom!

That night we put it in her room and hung up the Frozen portraits she had gotten from Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Leon.

She also got to eat lunch Grandma and Grandpa on her birthday.  They brought her Subway...the only place open early enough to bring her a sandwich for her 11:00 lunch time!  It just so happened her best buddy, Emersyn, had guests for lunch that day too and they got to sit by each other!

Everybody gets to choose a place to eat for their birthday with the Teetor family.  Claire chose to eat at Hiro 88 (with a little prompting from daddy!).  She was taking the picture instead of being in it! :-)

Birthday Party

Once again, we had a combined birthday party for family and close friends.  The kids are almost getting too big to sit on the counter to blow out their candles!

Claire gave Isaiah the game, MineCraft.  He had been yearning for this for quite some time.  He was thrilled and planned to learn a lot by reading books and talking to his friends about it.

Claire received a lot of Frozen gifts.  She really liked this Elsa doll.  She also got a papasan chair and some portraits to hang on the wall.

Easter 2016

We started our Easter celebrations this year by having our traditional egg dying party.  This year we did it at our house.  Instead of buying the kits this year, we just used water, vinegar, and food coloring.  It was the best they have ever turned out!

Isaiah reminded Grandma that last year she had made an egg scavenger hunt, so of course she had to do it again.  She had it all made up....and then it was a very rainy, cloudy day!  So Grandma redid most of the clues the night before and the kids had their hunt inside.

Mom and dad also had a scavenger hunt for the adult children!  Mark and Andy had to search for beer, while Sara and I found Dr. Pepper.  It was really fun and dad was very proud of his hiding abilities!

We also went to Sutton for an Easter meal and another Easter egg hunt.  Mikey and Deb hit the eggs for the kids and they received over $10 in coins and a few bills!

Birthday Boy

How did my baby boy turn 8?!  He got a new bike from us which he loves.  Don't worry, he wear a helmet when he actually rides it!!

Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Leon ate lunch with Isaiah on his birthday at school.  I love that they are able to do this since it's hard for this teacher mama to do those things.  They brought him Goodcents, because that's his favorite sandwich place!

For his party, Isaiah wanted a Jurassic World theme.  I found a dinosaur cake on Pinterest and this is how it turned out!  Not too shabby if I do say so myself!  He invited his closest friends over for a sleepover.  They had pizza, cake, popcorn, watched a movie, and played dinosaur/superhero games in the basement.  I think it is safe to say that fun was had by all!

Isaiah, Jackson, Owen, Noah, & Cade waiting for cake.

In the morning, we made french toast for breakfast with bacon, bananas, and juice.  We found all you need to do to make 8 year old boys happy is feed them a lot!
