The Beginning of 2012

January 2012
The new year was fairly uneventful.  We had the first big snowfall of the year (which happened to be on a Saturday! Boo!)  The kids had blast!  Isaiah played outside more than once and he and Andy dug a tunnel and we tried to make a snowman.  The snow wasn't really right to pack a snowman, so he turned out a little strange!

After playing in the snow we had to warm up with hot chocolate! They mostly ate the marshmallows, but they are the best part, right?!

February 2012
In February Andy and I took a trip to Washington D.C.  A Phi Mu sister of mine was getting married and we decided to make a fun trip out of it!  We flew out with a group of friends and stayed at a really nice hotel.  When we first got there Kayla gave us a nice (rainy) tour of the sites!

The second day we were there Andy and I took a tour of the mall and the Capitol.  We found a Nebraska statue in the Capitol and I was wearing my Nebraska shirt!

The wedding ceremony was very beautiful and we all had a wonderful time at the reception.  I had a lot of fun catching up with old friends!

Start of a 9 Month Recap!

Oh, my!!  I did not do a very good job of sticking to my goal of updating my blog!  So, I'm going to try to recap the last nine months as quickly as possible!  So here goes!!!

November, 2011
We moved into our new house!  We packed everything up and got it all ready.  Then on Saturday the 19th at 8:30am the Mayflower movers came and in about 2 and a half hours had the entire house packed up in a very large semi!  I did not get to be a part of this process, as I had to be in class more my graduate program.  Not that I would have done much but watch.  Andy said they were awesomely efficient!  Mayflower stored all our stuff for two days while we stayed with my parents.  Then on Monday, after taking the kids to daycare, we had our closing on both houses and were on our way to unpacking!  The movers unpacked everything in about 2 hours....Andy was right, they were awesome!

December 2011
The kids had a blast "helping" decorate the Christmas tree this year!  We had a perfect spot in the new house, in the corner of the living room next to the fireplace.

When I was growing up my mom and I always made sugar cookies every December.  The new house has what I like to call, a "cookie making counter".  The last couple of years we made cookies with Isaiah at mom's house, but with the new kitchen, we decided to do them at our house this year.  Isaiah loved eating the dough and helping make the cookies!

We got lights to outside our house this year!  We weren't ready to go full out and put them on the roof, but there's always next year!

I know it's a little blurry, but the kids looked so adorable in their Christmas outfits!

That's 2011...I'll be back with 2012!!
