House Hunters

Sooo...we didn't make it a huge deal, but the beginning of August we put our house up for sale. We'd been talking about it for a while and decided with the interest rates where they were this would be a good time! Well...63 days later we got an offer! So on Thursday in the midst of me having parent teacher conferences, we came to an agreement. Since we didn't have anything set up for where we are going to live, we set up some appointment for Saturday morning. It worked out well since the kids were staying at my parents' house. After looking at 5 options, one of which we dubbed the "marijuana house", we found the one! I was in love right away and after Andy checked everything out he was set as well. We actually looked at it twice that morning and then wrote up an offer that afternoon. While tailgating and getting ready for the big Husker win over Ohio State, we came to a settlement. Therefore, as of November 21, 2011, the Unterseher's will be moving their residence to a new location near 27th and Fletcher! The address change will be coming after the big move!

Go Big Red!

Andy took Isaiah to his first Husker football game this weekend. They went fairly late so Isaiah wouldn't have to wait too long for the game to start. Andy bought him a box of popcorn for entertainment and except for a handful, he ate the entire thing! Isaiah said he had lots of fun and Andy didn't complain! :-) They stopped at a tailgate on the way back to the car at halftime and Isaiah got a hot dog, a beef stick, and a Coke (which he told me today he didn't like!) They got home in time for Andy to watch most of the 4th Quarter.
Claire got to enjoy the game at home with me, Grandpa Leon, and both Grandmas. She woke up from her nap just before the game started and played very well through most of the game. She did look up at the tv a couple times and laugh! :-) By third quarter we got her to throw her hands up in the air when we said touchdown. I got a picture, but it's pretty blurry since she doesn't stop moving very well!

Fun in the Son!

We went to family camp this weekend with our church at Camp Sonshine. It's a wonderful little camp just south of Lincoln. We did rotations first consisting of:
1. train ride to the woods for a hike
2. Archery
3. waterslides!

Isaiah's favorite was the waterslides. Claire wanted to enjoy it, but it was really hard to physically get her to the top and she slipped and got bumped a couple times and therefore got a little scared.

After all that fun we had supper and then began the Amazing Race. We were put on a team with 3 other families and we had many tasks to accomplish including:
1. Decoding a secret message (0nce we finally found the decoder!)
2. Carrying a really heavy bucket of water (which the men did)
3. Putting together a lego machine (again, the men)
4. shooting and making 10 baskets (which Andy awesomely did!)
5. Finding the last instruction buried in the sand!

Our team came in third after a VERY bad start, so we were excited! By this point, the kids were pretty finished, but we still took them to sit around the campfire for a little bit. Isaiah enjoyed eating a few marshmellows (but wouldn't eat a S'more!) He even shared a little with his little sister.

We finally settled down in the tent, but Claire was not a happy camper (pun intended!) She didn't want to be in the pack'n'play but if I tried to get her to lay down with me, she would just run around the tent. By 10:30 I took her out of the tent and sat on the swing for about five minutes and she was out. She slept the rest of the night in her pack'n'play with no problem. Andy and I, however, got awoken about 5am by the nice rooster on the property. Most of the campers were hoping for chicken for lunch!!

Sunday morning we had a quick church service and headed for home. We were all REALLY tired today, but it was well worth it. Isaiah's already asking when we're going camping again!

Now Is The Time!

On Friday night we decided to take the kids to the Cornhusker Marching Band exhibition performance. We stopped first to eat supper at Valentino's.
We then hurried our way down to the stadium to watch the band. The kids really liked when the band was playing and running up and down the bleachers! My favorite part was the "march off"!
When we were leaving it was just starting to sprinkle and the sky looked really cool. I took one picture and Isaiah said I had to take one of the stadium too!

Water Babies

The kids played in the water every day this week and loved every minute of it! With it being as hot as it was, playing in the water was the only way to be outside!

Monday July 18th
The kids went to daycare and had water day!

Tuesday, July 19th
We stayed around home all day today. We started out by going for a run. It was the first time I went running with the double jogger I borrowed from my hairdresser, Lindsay, and it was tough!! My pace was much slower than normal! :-) When we got home we spent the rest of the morning playing in the water! The kids also had fun in the water in the bathtub. Claire has really started to love to "swim" in the bathtub. Andy said that, "it would be easier to clean a fish than Claire" right now! She keeps trying to lay down on her tummy or her back!

Wednesday, July 20th
The kids went to daycare again today and played in the water with Miss Joy and their friends.

Thursday, July 21st
Today we went to the library today for story time and toddler time. I left Isaiah with Miss Tami in preschool story time and went to toddler time with Claire. We had fun singing, dancing, and hearing a story. Then we went to pick up Isaiah and he was having a blast learning about penguins and doing the "Silly Dance"! We checked out some new Dr. Seuss books (because that's all Isaiah wants to check out) and headed home for lunch. On the way home, I popped some gum in my mouth and Isaiah begged to have some. Sooooo....for the first time I let Isaiah chew some! I made sure to explain to him that we don't swallow gum and it goes in a trash can when you're done this it! He did really well and though he was pretty darn cool!

Friday, July 22nd
Today was Claire's 15 month check-up. She weighed in at......18.5 pounds!! No forward facing for Claire for a while! :-) She was 30 1/4 inches long and only had to get one shot! After the appointment the kids and I went over to the mall for lunch. We chowed down some chinese food and then took a ride on the carousel.

Once we were done spinning around and around (a ride this mommy does not enjoy!) we headed for home for naptime. I put the kids down and headed outside to mow the lawn. It wasn't long, however, until I saw Isaiah staring sadly out the window at me. After one futile attempt to get him to lay down, I let him come outside and join me. Not more than a half an hour later Claire was rarin' to go, so I quit mowing (that Andy finished later in the evening) and we got out the hose, pool, and sprinkler. More water fun for the Untersehers!

Saturday, July 23rd
I played volleyball in the Cornhusker State Games today. Andy brought the kids over for one of the games. We played in a competative league that was fun, but we got our butts kicked!! :-) Since we were done by 2, we ran to the grocery store to grab some grub for supper. We had some steak, green beans, and watermelon.....and my kids LOVE watermelon. I ended up just giving Claire a whole piece and she just gnawed on it with her two little teeth and drooled watermelon juice all over herself! Isaiah ate at least three pieces himself and we had trouble getting him to eat anything else on his plate!

Sunday, July 24th
I sand in church this morning and then we ran home for a quick lunch. Around 1 my parents came by to watch the kids while Andy and I went to a bunch of open houses....yes people....that means we are in search of a new home! We'll see what the future brings!

Wonderful Week

Monday, July 11th
Vacation bible school started this week and it was the first time Isaiah got to participate!! He had a little trouble letting me get up on stage to lead the music while he stayed on the floor with his group, but after the song got started he was just fine, singing and dancing! Claire was at church, but got to spend the week down in the nursery with Miss Brenda. She cried every day when I left, but had a blast anyway! :-)

Tuesday, July 12th
Today we got to eat lunch with Patty and the boys and see them off at the airport. We met at McDonald's in Gretna and ate lunch. After lunch we went to the airport and got to watch the airplanes while we waited for Patty, Levi, and Calebs' flight. And we got to see a TON of planes both landing and taking off. The kids loved watching them, especially Claire.
Wednesday, July 13th
Claire loves to dance, play with the kitty, and do some sort of yoga moves!
Thursday, July 14th
Thursday was an eventful day for us! It started out by the kids and I going out and "pulling weeds". We had gotten them some gardening gloves and Isaiah was set on going out and pulling weeds. I got to work on the landscaping for about 45 minutes while the kids played and Isaiah did a little helping!
For lunch I had some yogurt and Claire we insistent that she needed some, so I gave in and let her have it. She had a blast eating it by herself!
After Claire napped and Isaiah had "quiet time", we went to the library. They were having an event with the Wildlife Encounter from Gretna. It's an organization that rescues wild animals found in the state of Nebraska. They had an alligator, a legless lizard, a snake, a coudimani, a tortoise, and a siberian tiger. My favorite was the tiger and Isaiah's was the snake!
Friday, July 15th
We went to the zoo this morning with Grandma Nancy. It was very HOT, so our favorite part today was the "Hive" where they kept the bugs. It was our favorite because it was air-conditioned! Isaiah got to hold a really large grasshopper. Claire really wanted to hold it too, but her hands were too small!

Saturday, July 16th
Today is our anniversary. Six years! Wow, has times flown! To celebrate we sent the kids off to my parents to spend the night and Andy and I went to see the final Harry Potter movie! I was well worth it! We then went to eat at our favorite restaurant, Vincenzo's. It was a wonderful date night.

Sunday, July 17th
Today we went to church for the VBS program. The kids got up to sing their songs and, of course, Isaiah refused to stand up on the stage. Mom told me this was never a problem for me when I was that age....don't know why! After church we ate lunch and then we took Isaiah to his first movie in the theatre!! Mark, Sara, Andy, and I took him to Cars 2. He did really well, with the exception of one bathroom run and needing more popcorn! We enjoyed the movie. It was a little hard for Isaiah to follow, but he still enjoyed watching the race cars! We're thinking either Muppets or Smurfs for his next movie!

Here We Go Again!

Wow! So I've been a bad blogger lately! What a wonderful way to document my childrens' lives, huh?! So here's my new goal...I'd like to update the blog weekly. It may be something small or a lot, but my goal is for it to be SOMETHING!!! So, here we go! I will recap the last week in this post, which actually was very fun-filled!

Sunday, July 3rd
We attended the annual Teetor Family Fourth Festival. We headed out to my parents in the afternoon to celebrate America. On the way we grabbed some fireworks in Raymond (they're usually better there). Isaiah got a dumptruck one and a firetruck one. Now last year, he had a blast setting off fireworks. This year, however, he was not so keen on it! He did, however, have a blast with his cousin, Jack! They had fun going down the slide, eating, watching fireworks, and they did set off some fireworks with the help of Jack's mom, Cat.

Claire, also had fun this year. She actually liked the fireworks. She would say, "oooh!" everytime she heard one. I'm not sure if this is good or bad! She stayed up the whole evening and pointed at the night-time fireworks. She also had fun swinging and playing on the eagle's nest.

Monday, July 4th
To celebrate America again, we went to Seward on Independence Day. We started the day off by going to the air show. We met the Yosts at the airfield and set up our chairs. The kids loved the planes and the sky divers. We had a lunch of hot dogs and fruit loops. When Claire tried to eat a piece of hot dog off the ground, Jon took it away from her. She froze on the spot, got a really mad face, and then burst into tears! It was hilarious! That little girl is going to be a spitfire!! :-)
After the air show we went into town and the 'big' kids went down a blow-up slide a few times and then we just hung out for a while in the shade! A little before the parade started our family went to my friend Laura's grandma's house, which is right on the parade route. It was nice to get out of the sun and heat for a little bit! We then watched the parade in the front yard. Isaiah was all about getting the candy and Claire just wanted to run out into the street! The sun and parade wore the kids out and we headed home afterwards. The kids both fell asleep on the way to the van and didn't even hardly wake up when transferred from stroller to van!

Saturday, July 9th
My entire family participated in the Run for Justin this year!! This is a 5K run that I have done 4 times now. For Christmas last year I gave my parents, brother, and his wife a water bottle, socks and an entry into this event. I was very excited that everyone completed the race, and i think we all met some sort of goal! If I can get my dad to email me the pic I will post it later!

Sunday, July 10th
Today was the annual Boswell Family Picnic. My cousin, Kendra and her husband hosted this year in Shickley. We had a great lunch and then they got the water out for the kids. Isaiah was only interested in the water activities before the bigger kids got out there. Then he was too intimidated to participate. We've got to toughen that kid up! He's kinda a wuss! :-) I had a great time catching up with family, Andy had some good Husker talk with my cousin, Kelly, and Claire had fun toddling around the house and playing with new toys!

It was a busy week, but that what summer is all about, right! Okay, so hopefully I will be back next Sunday with a new update! Wish me luck!

Birthday Boy

So I tried to create this post a week ago, but lost it all! So here goes again!

On March 12th we had Isaiah's birthday party...he turned 3!! How the time has flown! The theme of the party was "Cars" as Isaiah is presently obsessed with the Disney film. I made the invitations with my new Cricut machine and a Cars cartridge. (And I would like to say I was pretty proud of myself!) We invited his aunt and uncles, grandparents, and a couple friends. Of course most of these said friends are friends of our choice because they are our friends' children. However, this year Isaiah also invited a 'real' friend. He invited his friend, Myles, from daycare. When Myles arrived, I have never seen Isaiah so excited! He was jumping up and down and squealing!
When everyone had shown up we ate lunch (well, the kids didn't really eat much!) and then did the cake. (I had made a Lightning McQueen cake) Myles helped Isaiah blow (spit) out the candles and the cake was happily consumed!
The party wrapped up with Isaiah (and Myles and Kaci and Barrett) opening presents. The big last gift was his new swingset courticy of both gparents, uncle Brady and Nolan, and mom and dad. The men went outside and started to put it together (it ended up taking about 6 hours and was completed in the dark!) All in all, it was a great day!
