I can't believe Christmas has already come and gone! 2009 has been a blast for us. Isaiah has grown and changed so much. He's talking up a storm these days and repeats almost anything you say! We went down to Sutton for Christmas Eve and ended up getting snowed in at Aunt Jan's. Christmas day we were able to get off the farm, but had to leave the van there as it wouldn't make it through the drifts. We piled into Brady and Nathan's new trucks (Brady's conveniently has hooks for the carseat!) and plowed our way to town. Finally, on Saturday night, after Nolan used his boss's skidloader to clear the road, we were able to get the van to town and Sunday morning we headed for home! I've never been so excited to be on the road! Isaiah had lots of fun at Grandma's, though. He got lots of presents and really enjoyed tearing the paper to open them! He loves his choo choo and his tent and tunnel. We had to postpone Christmas with my family, but will be meeting with them next weekend. Isaiah has so many new toys, he's not sure what to play with....and we don't know where to put them!

It's A Girl!!
Many of you already know that we had our ultrasound and found out we're having a girl! The appointment was on Tuesday and as most of you know, we had the snowstorm of 2009 that day!! My appointment was moved up a half an hour and we trudged our way there. I'm pretty sure we were the last appointment. My doctor and his nurses had already gone home, so we had the ultrasound and then saw the nurse practitioner. When the technician started the ultrasound she asked if we wanted to know and we, of course, said yes. Right away she said she thought ti was a girl. I said, "you think?" She claimed the baby was being ornery so she'd come back and check after she did all her measurements. The baby looks great and at the end she showed us the "girl parts" to confirm we had a daughter on the way! We now have the struggle of picking out a name!! You'll all find out what we chose in about 4 months!!

I found it!
Isaiah's new favorite saying is "I found it!" even if he didn't really find it! It's adorable. He's also learned the word 'no', but I think it's the cutest darn no there is!:-) He loves to play starfall on the computer. His favorites are the letters b, k, and t. He has also figured out how to get onto the basement couch by using the corner of it. The upstairs couch is still a little too high for him! He's such a joy to be around these days, always changing and laughing and enjoying life! We'll see how he reacts to having another child to take mommy and daddy's attention in a few months! Only 3 weeks until we find out if it's a little brother or sister! Stay tuned!

Halloween!
We had a great halloween. Isaiah got to trick or treat three different times! First we had a party at our church. I handed out candy while Andy and Isaiah went around. Isaiah didn't like it when people put the candy in his bucket....he wanted to do it himself! When he was done he came back to our booth and helped me hand out the candy. He would take it out of our sack and put it in the kid's bag. Some kids even got more than one! We figure next year he'll actually know what candy is and won't be so generous to give it away!! We all dressed up for the party (101 Dalmations) and won a prize for best group costume!

The second trick or treating Isaiah did was at Boo at the Zoo. Isaiah was pretty mesmerized through the whole thing and wouldn't let us put him down. I don't think he was scared, because he would say thank you and give high fives, I think he was just overwhelmed!

And then of course we had to go trick or treating on Halloween. We went over to my brother's neighborhood and stopped by some people's houses we know. For only going to about five houses he got a lot of candy!

Vala's Pumpkin Patch
We went to Vala's Pumpkin Patch in the middle of October. My parents and Mark and Sara went with us. We went on a Sunday and it was insanely busy, but we still had fun. We chose to go that day because my friend Val's band was performing there, but we decided we'll never go back on a weekend again! Isaiah's favorite things were the jumping pillow and the sand pit which had lots of tractors! We didn't go the train ride or the hayrack ride since it was so busy, but we figured Isaiah is young enough he doesn't know any better so we could get away with it this year! Next year could be a different story!

Uh-Huh and Puking
Isaiah's new thing is to say "Uh-huh" to every question you ask him as he nods his head. Every once in a while if he really understands the question, he'll shake his head no. For instance, as supper the other night, I asked him if he was ready for night-night. That was a definate no!
Isaiah's other new thing is when he gets upset he cries so hard that he makes himself throw up. This is not cool and I'm really not liking it! If anyone has any advice on what to do with this, please let me know!!!!

Going Potty
We have started potty training Isaiah! Our daycare lady suggested it a couple weeks ago and I said, "Okay....tell me what to do!" He's only gone one time in the potty and was very intrigued, but not enough to do it again! He gets excited to sit on the potty, which is a good sign, maybe he'll go again sometime. It would be absolutely amazing for him to potty trained before the baby comes!!

A Sentence!!!
On Saturday morning Isaiah said his first full sentence!!! We were eating breakfast and he looked and me and said "I done mama". I was blown away! He's been talking a lot more these days, so I guess I really need to start watching what I say!!:-) At daycare he's been telling Miss Joy, "Done mama" she tells him to say Joy and he does and then says, "Done mama"!! What a funny little guy we have!

18 Months
So I'm a little late in getting this posted, but my baby is now 18 months old! At his doctor's appointment he weighed in at 21lbs, 4 oz. and was 32 inches long. He an active little man, always on the move. He can be naughty when he wants, but always makes us laugh. He's really starting to talk. He says down, uh-oh, bye, night-night, and much more we don't always understand! He's been getting some more teeth and therefore hasn't been sleeping well, but does mostly well during the day. He loves daycare and has many friends there he loves to play with. Oh! And he was invited to his first birthday party! We can't go, but it's fun that it's his first invitation! I keep trying to talk to Isaiah about the baby in mommy's tummy so maybe by the time it's born he'll realize what's going on!!

Sunday School
On Sunday during church Isaiah was in the toddler nursery and when he came down from the childrens' wing he had two little crafts with him! He had made a little plate puppet and a sheep out of a styrofoam cup and cotton balls. He was so proud of them! It was so adorable!

Labor Day
We spent Labor Day in Omaha with Andy's parents. We went to Lauritzen Gardens by the river. I was really cool. We took the tram ride and saw all the beautiful flowers and trees and Isaiah loved the mini railroad. We also got to see the biggest train engines! On the way down the hill from the trains Isaiah walked all the way down the steps with the help of mommy and Grandpa.

Go Big Red!
It's that time of year again and the Unterseher family had a great time at the first tailgate of the year. Andy got a spot in the lot by the train station and we actually helped contribute to the tailgate for the first time instead of mooching!:-) Isaiah had a blast playing with the ladder ball game, the bean bag game, eating food in his camping chair, and playing on the train engine! Andy went to the game with Uncle Nolan and Isaiah and I came home to watch the game with my family. Jon and Stacey and Kaci came over too and the kids had a blast playing together. They especially liked the stairs! We were excited with the first win of the season and look forward the the rest of the games!

A Break Through!
Last Thursday while putting Isaiah to bed I discovered he has two teeth coming in! So after 17 months and 4 days he finally started cutting teeth! I was so thrilled! One is on the middle bottom middle and the other is on the top outside! We're looking forward to more to come....I think!

Has it really been ten years?!
I went back to Wahoo this weekend for my ten year reunion. It was fantastic! To be brutally honest I wasn't quite sure how it would go. I wasn't quite as outgoing then as I am now and wasn't sure how everyone would react to everyone! Friday night we met at a bar in Wahoo and a lot of my classmates were there. It was great to catch up and see what everyone was doing! Saturday we went to the Fremont Lakes. Isaiah had a blast playing in the water while Andy lifeguarded all the kids! At 5 a few of us met at the high school to take a tour. It was interseting to see our old stomping ground. Then we met at the country club for dinner, drinks, and dancing. It was a blast! Some of us girls decided we need to get together again before our 20 year reunion! I really hope we do!

Henry Doorly Zoo
We took Isaiah to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha for the first time last week. We went with our friends, Jon and Stacey Yost, and their daughter, Kaci. We had a blast! The kids liked the petting zoo, the jungle, and LOVED the aquarium. We went on the train and got to see the elephants and the giraffes were aweseome! We decided that it will be an annual trip and can't wait until next year!

Mighty Mountains
We took our first vacation since having Isaiah and it was awesome! We left on a Thursday and drove out to Fort Collins, Colorado, which is where Andy's brother, Brady lives. After finding out that when traveling with a little one you need to ask some questions before reserving a hotel, we got settled into our room. On Friday we drove up into the mountains to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. We stopped by the road side and saw a bunch of mule deer and they even had a fawn with them! It was pretty cool!

We ate lunch at a really greasy burger place in Estes Park. It was good food, but enough fat and grease for the whole weekend! Then we went over by the river again.

After lunch we went up the tram onto the top of the mountain and fed some chipmunks. Isaiah thought it was really neat. Then we drove up to the top of the mountain...all the way above the tree line! It was an awesome view!

On Saturday we went to the New Belgium Brewery. We took the guided tour and it was really interesting. Our tour guide was really good and Isaiah got to do some running around, and tried out a little bike that was upstairs in one of the brewing rooms! In the afternoon we went down to the Pouche River and Isaiah had a blast throwing rocks. He got his clothes soaking wet, so he had to ride back to the hotel in just his diaper!

4th of July!
We had a fun 4th of July weekend! The first thing we did was go to Seward in the morning with our friends, Jon and Stacey and their daughter Kaci. The kids enjoyed rolling around in their strollers checking out the tractors, cars, dancers, and all the booths selling things. After eating lunch we headed back home for a nap! In the afternoon we went to my cousins' house for supper and fireworks! Isaiah had a blast playing outside and watching everyone do fireworks. He even stayed up late to watch the nighttime fireworks. He was such a trooper. He watched and pointed and didn't even flinch on the big boom ones that his mommy was always scared of! We can't wait to see what he'll do next year!

Dugout Days
We went back to Sutton this weekend for Dugout Days. Friday night we ate BBQ chicken from the park and then we went down to the carnival. Isaiah LOVED it! First I took him on the carosouel and then he went on about every ride there he was big enough to go on! Saturday we went down and played at the park. They were doing face painting, so I thought we'd give it a try. He sat still for about 30 seconds and then he rubbed his hand all over it! It ended up looking like an "I" though! After lunch in the park we went to the pool and then took a LONG nap. After supper we watched the parade and Isaiah liked the firetrucks and the horses. It was a long weekend for us all, but we had a lot of fun!

My First Baseball Game!
For mother's day Andy, Isaiah and I went to a Husker baseball game. Isaiah had a lot of fun and we stayed almost the whole game. His favorite part was getting his little red bat!
