Rockin' & Rollin'

Isaiah has become a pro at rolling over both ways now. When he's on the floor, he's all over the place! He has also mastered sitting up and usually does so totally unsupported. He loves to sit on the floor and play with his toys. When he's ready to lay down he just does a little face-plant to his tummy and starts rolling around! He will sometimes even start scooching forward, but he does so on his side because he's only figured out how to use his right leg! Andy calls him a side-winder snake! He's so much fun to just watch now!

Sizing Up!

We bought a new box of size two diapers on Saturday. We debated getting the big box, but we decided that Isaiah is still within the weight boundries and we hadn't been having any problem with them. So of course, on Sunday and Monday he blew out of the size 2's five times!!! Luckily, we hadn't opened the box yet and were able to take it back and get a box of size 3.

5 Months!

Isaiah is now 5 months old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone! He's been eating cereal for about a month now and we gave him sweet potatoes for the first time yesterday! They are much messier than the cereal!:-) Isaiah loves to sit up now and is getting pretty good at it. He started daycare again last Monday and they said he pretty much spends the whole day on the toddler side of the room sitting and watching the kids play!

Baptism

We had Isaiah baptized on Sunday. He was content being held before the baptism, but once I handed him to our pastor, PT, he started crying! But he calmed down after a second and was just curious when PT put the water on his head. Then my mom and Sherry (a family friend) sang "For Baby", which was sung at my baptism. It was neat to hear mom and Sherry sing together again! When we went home Isaiah played in his exersaucer for around an hour while the food was being prepared. An hour to prepare the food, you ask. Yes, because when Andy went to light the grill he found that the regulator was broken. So we ended up grilling the brats in our oven instead! Isaiah wouldn't take a nap all day because he can't miss anything, but finally crashed at 2 and slept for 3 hours!

Ribfest

Mom was offering Isaiah a rib, which he would've taken!

We went to Ribfest on Friday night with my family. Isaiah did great. He sat in his stroller for a while and then was content to be passed around to different relatives!

Softball Tourney!

On Friday we went back to Sutton for the Travis Carpenter Memorial Softball Tournament. We've played in it together since Andy and I started dating. And I think pretty much every year we've been the runner up! So this year our team name was actually "The Runner Ups". It was the hottest tournament weekend I can remember playing in, so Isaiah got to spend quality time with his Sutton grandparents. But of course, we lived up to our name and were once again the runner ups!:-) But we had lots of fun and Isaiah and Kaci, of course, got to spend some time together. Although, Friday night was not a good evening for them because Kaci decided she was jealous of how much hair Isaiah has and gave it a good pull (see picture). And that started both babies wailing! It was pretty funny! Saturday wasn't a great day for Isaiah either, since he'd gotten to bed late both Thursday and Friday. But grandma did a great job taking care of him despite his mood! Saturday night we got him to bed early and Sunday was a much better day!

Saunders County Fair

We took Isaiah to Wahoo for the Saunders County Parade last Thursday. We ate in the park and then watched part of the parade. Isaiah sat with Grandpa Leon and was only startled once by the air horn of a big truck! We then walked down to the fairgrounds and took him on the carousel. He was really tired by that point but seemed to enjoy it. He would hold onto the pole and even petted the horse once! Everyone watching the carousel was enthralled with him. The lady running it said it was the youngest child she'd seen ride yet!
