9 months!!

Wow! 9 months old! How time flies when you're having fun! Isaiah is a blast these days. He's crawling all over the place, messing with anything he can find, that he's not supposed to! At his doctor's appointment today he weighed 17lbs. 1 oz., which puts him in the 5th percentile! He's quite the peanut! He got a new toy from Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas this weekend and loves pushing it around the house! I'll put a video on of it when Mark sends it to me!:-)

Climbing Stairs

While back in Sutton for Thanksgiving, Isaiah learned how to climb stairs. Andy's parents have three steps down into their family room and after a couple tries, he was a pro at climbing them!

8 Months!

Wow! I can't believe Isaiah is 8 months old! He's changing so much every day! He crawls all over the place and getting into everything! While at Grandpa and Grandpa's house this weekend he even crawled up the stairs! There's only three stairs and the incentive was the cat and the cat toys in the kitchen. But we were pretty impressed!:-) He's also talking a lot more these days and sometimes it even sounds like words! He say "dada"...sometimes "mama". I swear he says kitty when he chases her around! I haven't had a chance to weigh him this month but my guess is around 17 pounds. We'll find out for sure next month at his check up!

Fascinating!

So I was watching Isaiah play tonight and I noticed he put his rubber duck through the handle on his little tower. As I continued to watch, I realized he was doing it on purpose, because he did it over and over for a while. I thought it was fascinating! What a smart little bug he is!

Curious as a Cat!

Isaiah has mastered crawling....usually on both knees now instead of one knee and one foot. We're very excited, but we have a very curious baby on our hands. He's been getting into anything he can find! Yesterday he was "looking" at some of my old photo albums and rearranging a few frames! We've definately been baby proofing our house now!

Family Fall Festival

We had a "halloween" party at our church last Sunday. Isaiah went trunk-or-treating and helped pass out candy dressed as Yoda. Andy and I were his Jedi's! Our children's director told me that if we would've had an award for best costume, Isaiah would have won! Some of the pics are with Eli, Isaiah's friend! He was an x-ray!

A baby in a bar?!

Yes, we took a baby to the bar! Friday night I met Andy and some of his friends from work at the Endzone. Andy received a raise last week and we went to have a drink to celebrate. I felt a little weird taking a baby into the bar, but there's no smoking allowed anymore, so....why not! He had fun watching all the people and looking at all the neon signs!

7 months old!

I can't believe it, but my little baby is 7 months old! Isaiah is getting very close to crawling, but can't figure out how to go forward. He gets up on his hands and knees, but just pushes backward and sits down. It's kinda neat he can get from laying to sitting, but he gets frustrated that he can't get places quicker! Isaiah slept through the night three nights last week, but then was up most of the night on Saturday. We went for a car ride at 2:30am to get him to fall asleep! Last night was better, so hopefully he'll sleep through the night again, sometime soon!

Oh, Baby

We've had long weekend here at the Unterseher household. Isaiah had not been sleeping well again, which we thought might be teething. He'd had a low grade temperature...which we thought might be teething. But then on Thursday and Friday his cough and congestion came back. By Saturday morning he was quite distressed and was crying unconsolably for quite a while. We called our doctor's office and they said to take him to the hospital. So.....after four hours in the St. Elizabeth's ER, we came home with a diagnosis of Bronciolitis. We have to give him breathing treatments every 4 hours, and then our family doctor followed up today and put him on an antibiotic also. He's doing better today and can hopefully go back to daycare tomorrow. However, the machine they gave us for his breathing treatments is really cute! When I get a chance I'll add a picture of it! Please keep Isaiah in your prayers that he can get past this quickly!

Awesome Baby!

I just think I have one of the best babies!:-) Tonight I hosted my PEO meeting and Isaiah had to spend the evening with daddy and uncle Mark. He nursed at 5:20 and ate supper at 5:45 and then spent the whole evening downstairs and didn't whine or complain until all the ladies left at about 8:15. I love my child! :-)

Half a Year!

I can't believe Isaiah is a half a year old!:-) He's growing a changing all the time. He now rolls and spins all over the floor. He can get his knees up under him, but hasn't figured out how to get up on his hands at the same time! We bought a gate for the stairs already, though, since he might decide to roll over there any time! He's also found his voice! He squeals and laugh in a high pitch constantly. He's beginning to become quite independent....meaning we can leave him on the floor to play and he can entertain himself for a while! That is, until he gets stuck somewhere or wants to stand up!:-) He's so much fun to spend time with and I can't wait to be with him at the end of the day! He also started eating fruits this month. He's only had pears, but he seems to be a little better these days....I don't always have to pry his mouth open to get the food in anymore!

Go Big Red!

Isaiah saw his first two Husker football games last week and today. Well, actually, he only saw half of the first game because he had to go to bed at halftime, and today he slept through the whole thing! He still has his cold and was up quite a while in the night coughing, so obviously he was very tired!:-)

Rockin' & Rollin'

Isaiah has become a pro at rolling over both ways now. When he's on the floor, he's all over the place! He has also mastered sitting up and usually does so totally unsupported. He loves to sit on the floor and play with his toys. When he's ready to lay down he just does a little face-plant to his tummy and starts rolling around! He will sometimes even start scooching forward, but he does so on his side because he's only figured out how to use his right leg! Andy calls him a side-winder snake! He's so much fun to just watch now!

Sizing Up!

We bought a new box of size two diapers on Saturday. We debated getting the big box, but we decided that Isaiah is still within the weight boundries and we hadn't been having any problem with them. So of course, on Sunday and Monday he blew out of the size 2's five times!!! Luckily, we hadn't opened the box yet and were able to take it back and get a box of size 3.

5 Months!

Isaiah is now 5 months old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone! He's been eating cereal for about a month now and we gave him sweet potatoes for the first time yesterday! They are much messier than the cereal!:-) Isaiah loves to sit up now and is getting pretty good at it. He started daycare again last Monday and they said he pretty much spends the whole day on the toddler side of the room sitting and watching the kids play!

Baptism

We had Isaiah baptized on Sunday. He was content being held before the baptism, but once I handed him to our pastor, PT, he started crying! But he calmed down after a second and was just curious when PT put the water on his head. Then my mom and Sherry (a family friend) sang "For Baby", which was sung at my baptism. It was neat to hear mom and Sherry sing together again! When we went home Isaiah played in his exersaucer for around an hour while the food was being prepared. An hour to prepare the food, you ask. Yes, because when Andy went to light the grill he found that the regulator was broken. So we ended up grilling the brats in our oven instead! Isaiah wouldn't take a nap all day because he can't miss anything, but finally crashed at 2 and slept for 3 hours!

Ribfest

Mom was offering Isaiah a rib, which he would've taken!

We went to Ribfest on Friday night with my family. Isaiah did great. He sat in his stroller for a while and then was content to be passed around to different relatives!

Softball Tourney!

On Friday we went back to Sutton for the Travis Carpenter Memorial Softball Tournament. We've played in it together since Andy and I started dating. And I think pretty much every year we've been the runner up! So this year our team name was actually "The Runner Ups". It was the hottest tournament weekend I can remember playing in, so Isaiah got to spend quality time with his Sutton grandparents. But of course, we lived up to our name and were once again the runner ups!:-) But we had lots of fun and Isaiah and Kaci, of course, got to spend some time together. Although, Friday night was not a good evening for them because Kaci decided she was jealous of how much hair Isaiah has and gave it a good pull (see picture). And that started both babies wailing! It was pretty funny! Saturday wasn't a great day for Isaiah either, since he'd gotten to bed late both Thursday and Friday. But grandma did a great job taking care of him despite his mood! Saturday night we got him to bed early and Sunday was a much better day!

Saunders County Fair

We took Isaiah to Wahoo for the Saunders County Parade last Thursday. We ate in the park and then watched part of the parade. Isaiah sat with Grandpa Leon and was only startled once by the air horn of a big truck! We then walked down to the fairgrounds and took him on the carousel. He was really tired by that point but seemed to enjoy it. He would hold onto the pole and even petted the horse once! Everyone watching the carousel was enthralled with him. The lady running it said it was the youngest child she'd seen ride yet!

4 Months!

Isaiah had his 4 month check-up yesterday and is doing great! He was 14lbs. 4oz. and was 25 3/4 inches long. He's healthy and happy! The doctor said we can start him on rice cereal, which I'm excited about! We'll do that this weekend. He had to get his 4 month shots, but luckily they had a combined one so he only had to get three instead of five! He cried when they stuck him, but calmed down pretty well afterwards and didn't have any trouble the rest of the day.

Run for Justin

I ran in my first race since having Isaiah today! I participated in the Run for Justin. I did it two years ago while training for the San Fransisco Marathon and thought it was really neat. It's in honor of Justin Nealon who was an avid runner and an athlete for Team in Training, also. He was in a pedestrian accident in 2002 and now his family continues his passion and mission of running and helping out the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I was nervous about running it this year because I hadn't even run two miles yet!! But I made it all 3.2 miles in 34 minutes. Not very fast, but I ran the whole way! Andy and Isaiah came with and watched me cross the finish line. It was a beautiful day for a run...minus the rain in the beginning! We had a fun morning in Omaha and even ate brunch with Cat and Jack Teetor and Adam Brehm. I'm so glad to be back running again!

Eventful Weekend

We had an eventful first weekend of July! Friday night we went to Brad and Jennifers' house for the Fourth of July. Isaiah did great! He hung out with everyone until it was bedtime and then we put him to sleep in the basement in his pack-n-play. He went right to sleep and only woke up once. When it was time to go home, we loaded him up in his carseat. Even though the neighbors were shooting of very LOUD fireworks, Isaiah didn't wake up! He didn't even wake up when we got home and put him to bed!

Then on Saturday night we went out to James Arthur Vineyards for Bob's 60th birthday. It was a surprise for Bob and many of his friends came. There were twelve of us at JAV and then Nolan and Brady joined us for dinner at Vincenzo's. Isaiah did great again, but was very tired when we got home after nine!

Sunday we went to church and I sang on the praise and worship team for the first time since having Isaiah. It was a lot of fun because Josh picked songs that had need harmony parts! After church we changed and met Marv and Paula and their family out at Pawnee Lake. It was Isaiah's first time to the lake and he seemed to enjoy it! We borrowed Jack's lifejacket and he even took his first boat ride! At first he didn't like it, but once we got some speed up, he was more excited!

Sicky, Sick

We took Isaiah back to Sutton this weekend for Dugout days. It was fun! We got together with his girlfriend, Kaci. They both saw their first parade and weren't scared by the loud horns! But....Isaiah threw up while at Grandma and Grandpa's. We left after the parade so we could get Isaiah home and hopefully feeling better. On Sunday he slept a lot of the day and still wasn't feeling well. Also on Sunday, Andy got sick. He had a fever and was very achy. He decided he was going to stay home on Monday to help recover. I, however, was the last one to get sick....and got it the worst! I was vomiting about every hour for twenty-four hours. Luckily, I have a wonderful mother and she came to take care of Isaiah while Andy and I were being sick and recovering. Today we took Isaiah to daycare so I could recover. I've missed him yesterday and today, but I need to time to get better. Hopefully we will all be well soon!

Doctor Visit

I took Isaiah to the doctor today. He's had a cold for a while and for two weeks now has been coughing and had a runny nose. The doctor said he has fluid in his lungs and had an x-ray done. It was clear, but she thinks he has a form of bronchitis. She gave us a prescription for an antibiotic and hopefully that will do the trick!

3 Months Old!

Isaiah is three months old today! I can't believe it! Time goes by so fast! We stopped swaddling him for the first time two nights ago. He has grown out of his swaddlers and we didn't want to buy more. He's been doing pretty well. It takes a while longer to get him to fall asleep, but he sleeps for 3-4 hour stretches. I'm hoping that as he gets used to not being swaddled he'll go back to sleeping for 7-8 hours!

Grabbing!

Isaiah has started grabbing! Yesterday he grabbed the legs of his rattle lion on his gym. Today he was grabbing his "catterdog" on his ears and hat! Of course, he's trying to put it all in his mouth and all his fingers at one time!
